Focus: JESUS IS THE TRUE BREAD OF LIFE
WORSHIP SONG: I am the Bread of Life
Everyone: Make the Sign of the Cross:
Leader: Bless the Lord who forgives all our sins.
Everyone: His mercy endures for ever.
OPENING PRAYER
God, our loving Father, you sent your blessed Son Jesus Christ from heaven to be the TRUE BREAD of Life. We humbly ask for this TRUE bread, to live in us, and we in Him.
We believe with all our hearts,
that our resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever.
Amen.
PSALM 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd.
He gives me everything I need.
2 He lets me lie down in fields of green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths for the honor of his name.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid. You are with me. Your shepherd’s rod and staff comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head. My cup runs over.
6 I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
Video: JESUS FEEDING THE 5000
GOSPEL: John 6:51, 55-56: Jesus is the Bread of Life
51 Jesus said, I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Everyone who eats some of this bread will live forever. This bread is my body. I will give it for the life of the world.”
55 My body is real food. My blood is real drink. 56 Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood remains in me. And I remain in them.
HOMILY:
JESUS IS THE TRUE BREAD of LIFE sent to us by OUR FATHER
1. GOD THE FATHER gave Jesus bread to FEED 5000+ people to show His power to always provide for our bodies and our spirits.
2. JESUS told his disciples: I am the REAL BREAD of LIFE from Heaven. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry in your spirit!
3. At His LAST SUPPER with his DISCIPLES, He promised that HE would be the BREAD of LIFE every time we attended Mass as part of His Holy Family.
4. BELIEVE with all your heart and RECEIVE more of JESUS Christ, Son of God, at every MASS. AMEN.
Leader: Let us confess our faith in the words of the Apostle’s Creed (shortened version)
THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
Amen.
Leader: PRAYING FOR OTHERS
In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, AMEN
Almighty God,
We ask you to love and care for those in our lives: our families, friends, and others who need you as the REAL BREAD of LIFE to nourish them to learn and grow to be the best versions of themselves.
We know that you are doing for them better things than we can ask or pray for them, through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.
CONFESSION
Leader: Let us humbly confess our sins to Almighty God:
O GOD, We are VERY SORRY for our sins that take us away from your love and care.
Take a moment in silence to share your confession to God with these words in your heart:
Especially I confess_______________________________.
Everyone: Forgive us for Jesus' sake, and grant us strength and wisdom to amend our lives. Amen.
Everyone:
LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen
