2021: Year of PRAYER

The Year of God’s Favor (EXTRA special BLESSINGS) as WE PRAY TOGETHER

OPENING PRAYER

In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, AMEN. Almighty God, we thank you for the opportunity to be with you today.

First we ask for special grace, peace, and healing for all of our families who have been affected by this COVID Pandemic. We pray that your compassion and deep love will comfort the hearts who have lost loved ones. Help us to be a caring HOLY FAMILY of support for all of our children and families today and in the days to come.

Guide us today with your divine wisdom and open our minds, hearts, and spirits that we may receive all that you offer us to grow into all you created us to be. In your Holy Name we pray, AMEN

WORSHIP SONG to prepare out HEARTS to be VERY close to God in our time together:

GOD’S WORD: Jeremiah 1:4-10:

The Lord said,

5 “Before I formed you in your mother’s body I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart to serve me.

I appointed you to be a messenger to the nations.”

6 “You are my Lord and King,” I said. “I don’t know how to speak. I’m too young.”

7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I’m too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to. You must say everything I command you to say. 8 Do not be afraid of the people I send you to. I am with you. I will rescue you,” announces the Lord.

9 Then the Lord reached out his hand. He touched my mouth and spoke to me. He said, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 Today I am appointing you to speak to nations and kingdoms. I give you authority to build them up and plant them.”

TEACHING

Jeremiah’s call to become a prophet to the nations came early in his life, some say when he was about 17—and it scared him a lot at first, but God promised him that he would be always be right there with him, guiding him to be successful in what God called him to do.

SOMETHING TO PONDER:

Think about God the Father praying over Baby Jesus, his Son who was with Him before Creation, now coming to earth to fulfill God’s rescue plan for all of us.

“Before I formed you in your mother Mary’s body I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart to serve me. I appointed you to be a savior to the nations.”

WHAT DOES THIS PASSAGE TEACH US ABOUT GOD?

1. God creates each of us for a special purpose (v. 5)

2. He gives us instructions on what to do and what to say (v. 7)

3. He promises us to bless us with everything we need to do what he wants us to do. (v. 8-9)

4. He may give us very difficult assignments (10)

WHAT DOES GOD’s WORD say to CHILDREN AND YOUTH?

I had a plan for you before you were born. I am with you always. You never have to do anything that I ask you to do by yourself. (Ask for my help.)

WHAT DOES GOD’S WORD SAY TO Our Families about caring for children:

I give you authority to build them up and plant them. (Ask for my help.)

Who will want to hear about the amazing things you learned today?

Friends? Relatives? Classmates? Neighbors?

LET’S PRAY the BLESSED PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father:

Thank you for calling me to be part of your Holy Family.

It is so amazing that you figured out a wonderful plan for my life before I was in my mother’s womb.

Thank you for all the ways you bless me.

Help me to be aware that every person, place, and adventure I experience is an opportunity to love you more.

Fill me with a desire to change and to grow,

and give me the grace to become the-best-version-of-myself in every moment of every day. AMEN
