FAMILY COMMUNION

This rite is used when the consecrated elements are brought from an earlier celebration of Holy Communion.

Everyone: Make the Sign of the Cross:

Leader: Alleluia, Christ is Risen

Everyone: The Lord is risen indeed!

Leader: Gathering PRAYER

Almighty God, today we celebrate with joy, the Resurrection of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ. Through the power of your Holy Spirit, please deliver US from sin and raise us from death now and forever.

Leader continues:

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PSALM 118:17

I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord

GOSPEL LESSON: Mark 16:1-8

HE IS RISEN! HE LIVES!!!

16 The Sabbath day ended. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices. They were going to use them for Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, they were on their way to the tomb. It was just after sunrise. 3 They asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance to the tomb?”

4 Then they looked up and saw that the stone had been rolled away. The stone was very large. 5 They entered the tomb. As they did, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe. He was sitting on the right side. They were alarmed.

6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. But he has risen! He is not here! See the place where they had put him. 7 Go! Tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. It will be just as he told you.’ ”

TEACHING: Choose HOPE and NEW LIFE with the RISEN JESUS Our Lord

Reflect the LIGHT of CHRIST in OUR Lives.

PRAYERS of GRATITUDE: Thank God for his blessings in your life.

PRAYERS FOR OTHERS: Pray for God to guide and care for those you love.

CONFESSION

Leader: Let us humbly confess our sins to Almighty God:

O GOD, We are VERY SORRY that we have sinned against you and for all the wrongs we have done and the good we have not done.

Take a moment in silence to share your confession to God with these words in your heart:

Especially I confess_______________________________.

Everyone: Forgive us for Jesus' sake, and grant us strength and wisdom to amend our lives. Amen.

PEACE

Leader: The peace of the Lord be always with you.

People: And with your spirit.

Leader: Let us pray.

Everyone:

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen

EVERYONE:

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world;

have mercy on us.

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world;

grant us your peace.

Leader:

The Gifts of God for the People of God. Take them in remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on him in your hearts by faith, with thanksgiving.

The Sacrament is then distributed with the following words by the Leader

The Body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.

(The Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.)

God, our loving Father,

We thank you for feeding us, with the spiritual food of the most precious Body (and Blood) of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ

Leader:

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
