FAMILY MASS - Tuesday, December 7, 2021

Family Mass

Tuesday, December 7, 2021

On November 28, we started the Season of ADVENT where we prepare our hearts to joyfully remember that God the Father sent Jesus, His Son into this world to SAVE us.

We also prepare our hearts for his SECOND coming to be with us forever.

We normally would see the priest and deacon wearing PURPLE to represent preparing our hearts and changing our ways to become more like Jesus.

Today, you will see the priest and deacon wearing WHITE….the color of celebration to honor St. Ambrose.

Saint Ambrose who was a very famous Archbishop who lived about 400 years after Jesus ascended into heaven.

Saint Ambrose was wise and spoke the truth courageously about Jesus, being the Son of God, fully human and fully divine! His words were smooth and sweet like honey.

(Enjoy the Bit of Honey and ask God to give you his grace to speak wisely and courageously about Jesus as your Lord and Savior!)

LITURGY OF THE WORD

(An Outline for Reading and Learning God’s WORD in the Bible)

Responsorial Psalm. 96:1-2, 3 and 10ac, 11-12, 13

R. The Lord comes with Power

GOSPEL: Tells us who Jesus is and help us BELIEVE and receive him as our SAVIOR

MATTHEW 18:12-14

Jesus said to his disciples: “What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray? And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.”

Going deeper with the Gospel: (Highlight what is important to you!)

Every GOSPEL (Good News) story tells us who God is

  1. We know that Jesus, the Son of God IS the Good Shepherd.

  2. The MAN in this story is JESUS, the Good Shepherd.

  3. Jesus as the Son of God ALWAYS does His Father’s WILL.

  4. What does Jesus do when one of us wanders away from being close to him?

  5. God the Father wants all of us to be saved from sin so we can live happily in His Kingdom on earth now and forever.

  6. Know that you are one of God’s precious little ones (no matter how old you are!). He will send Jesus, the Good Shepherd after you whenever you go astray to draw you back to His family.

  7. What is one special truth that you learned about God from this reading? (Underline the truth that God is speaking to your heart.)

    1. Jesus, the Good Shepherd is always reaching out to draw me closer to him.

    2. I can trust in God’s WORD to show me how to live my life.

    3. God is ALL powerful and can help me overcome anything in my life that keeps me from loving him and living the way he shows me to live.

    4. God loves ALL of us and wants us to be part of his family. He doesn’t want any of us to be left out.

    5. OR Your words:

  8. Who will you share this Good News about Jesus with?
